10 Craft Ideas to do With 12 Disciples Coloring Pages
Once those vibrant coloring pages are complete, don't let them sit in a pile! These easy and affordable crafts put your finished 12 disciples artwork to creative use.
1. “Follow Me” Footprint Path
Cut out your favorite disciples from the coloring pages. Glue them onto various construction paper footprints (cut out beforehand) in a trailing line. Arrange these footprints along a hallway or wall to create a path, illustrating the disciples following Jesus.
2. Fisher of Men Mobile
Cut out the disciples and any fish you might have colored. Tie string to the top of each cutout. Suspend them from a lightweight stick, coat hanger, or two crossed pipe cleaners to create a beautiful hanging mobile, reminding us that they became “fishers of men.”
3. Discipleship Journey Scroll
Glue several colored disciples onto a long strip of brown construction paper or butcher paper. Attach each end of the paper to a paper towel roll or small dowel rod with tape or glue. Roll it up to create an ancient-looking scroll, symbolizing their travels to spread the good news.
4. Storytelling Stick Puppets
Carefully cut out each disciple figure from your coloring pages. Glue each cutout onto a craft stick or popsicle stick. Use your finished stick puppets to reenact bible stories or create new adventures for the disciples.
5. “Light of the World” Lantern
Form a cylinder or square box from cardstock or heavy construction paper, leaving openings. Cut out individual disciples from your finished pages and glue them onto the sides of your lantern. Place a battery-operated tea light inside to illuminate the disciples as “light of the world.”
6. Disciples' Fellowship Coasters
Cut your colored disciples into circles or squares that fit onto cardboard coaster blanks or sturdy cardstock squares. Glue the disciple cutouts onto the cardboard. For durability, cover them with clear contact paper or a layer of Mod Podge.
7. Twelve Baskets of Plenty Scene
Cut out your disciples and glue them onto a piece of construction paper or a small box as a background. Fold and glue small paper “baskets” and glue them around the disciples. This craft illustrates the story of the feeding of the multitude and collecting the leftovers.
8. “Go and Make Disciples” Banner
Take a long piece of construction paper or butcher paper. Cut out various disciples from your coloring pages and glue them across the banner. Use markers to write “Go and Make Disciples!” above or below the figures, creating a visual reminder of the Great Commission.
9. Disciples' Door Hanger
Draw and cut out a door hanger shape from sturdy cardboard or cardstock. Cut out your favorite disciple from a coloring page and glue it onto the main part of the door hanger. You can add a ribbon to hang it, proclaiming “A Disciple Lives Here!”
10. The Great Commission Map
On a large sheet of paper, draw a simple outline of a world or region map. Cut out your finished disciples. Glue them onto different areas of the map, illustrating how the disciples went out from Jerusalem to spread the Gospel to all nations, fulfilling the Great Commission.
