Once those finished candle coloring pages pile up, don't let them gather dust! These easy and affordable crafts are the perfect way to bring your colorful creations to life.
1. Birthday Candle Countdown Chain
Cut out individual colored candles from your pages. Take strips of construction paper, write numbers on them for each day leading up to a birthday or special event, and glue a candle cut-out to each strip. Link the strips together to form a festive countdown chain, tearing one off each day!
2. Flickering Flame Suncatchers
Cut out various colored flame shapes from your finished pages. Place them between two sheets of wax paper along with a few crayon shavings for extra color. Iron gently over a towel to melt the wax and seal your flame art, then hang in a window to catch the light.
3. Dream Candle Jar
Clean and dry an empty glass jar. Cut out small, colorful candle or star shapes from your colored pages. Glue them artistically around the outside of the jar. Use this special jar to collect handwritten wishes or dreams, like lighting a symbolic candle for your hopes.
4. Celebration Banner
Cut out large, distinct candle shapes from your finished coloring pages. Punch two holes at the top of each candle. Thread yarn or string through the holes to create a vibrant banner perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any special celebration, spelling out a message with additional construction paper letters if desired.
5. Personalized Candle Card
Fold a piece of construction paper in half to create a card base. Cut out a prominent, colored candle from one of your pages and glue it onto the front of the card. Add glitter, ribbon, or markers to personalize your unique greeting for any occasion.
6. Candle Character Puppets
Cut out full colored candles from your pages. Glue each candle to a popsicle stick. Use googly eyes and pipe cleaner pieces to add arms, legs, or facial features, transforming your colored candles into fun, whimsical characters for imaginative play or storytelling.
7. Glowing Window Clings
Carefully cut out individual candles and flames from your colored pages. Lay them onto a large piece of clear contact paper, leaving space between each. Place another sheet of contact paper on top, sealing your designs. Trim around the edges and stick your “glowing” creations onto a window.
8. Candlelight Place Settings
Fold small pieces of cardstock to create tented place cards. Cut out a smaller, colored candle shape from your pages for each guest. Glue one candle onto the front of each place card and write your guests' names below it for a charming and personal table decoration.
9. Decorative Candle Wraps
Measure the circumference and height of a battery-operated pillar candle (available cheaply at dollar stores). Cut strips or designs from your colored candle pages to fit around it. Secure your custom wraps with a glue stick or clear tape for unique and safe decorative “candles.”
10. Candle Flame Game Board
On a piece of poster board, draw a winding path. Cut out numerous small flame or candle shapes from your colored pages and glue them along the path to create game squares. Use buttons as game pieces and a die to roll your way along the “path of light” to a finish line.
