10 Craft Ideas to do With Halloween Mummy Coloring Pages
Once those finished coloring pages pile up, don't let their creativity go to waste! These easy and affordable crafts are the perfect way to bring your spooky mummies to life in new, exciting ways.
1. Mummy “Ancient Scroll” Art
Cut out your colored mummies from the pages. Glue them onto a long piece of brown craft paper or several pieces of construction paper taped together. Roll the paper up from both ends and tie with a piece of twine to create an ancient-looking scroll, perhaps adding some ripped fabric strips as “bandages” around the scroll ends.
2. Mummy “Wrapped” Wall Hanging
Cut out your favorite colored mummy from the page. Glue it onto a piece of sturdy poster board or cardboard. Now, take strips of toilet paper or gauze and carefully wrap them around the mummy, securing with a dot of glue, leaving parts of your colored mummy peeking through. Add a loop of string to the back for hanging.
3. Mummy Pop-Up Sarcophagus Card
Fold a piece of construction paper in half for the card base. Cut out a colored mummy from your page and glue it onto another piece of paper to make it sturdier. Create a simple “pop-up” mechanism inside the card with two small paper strips, then glue your mummy cutout so it “pops up” when the card opens, revealing the ancient figure. Decorate the front of the card to resemble a sarcophagus.
4. Mummy “Pyramid Peek” Diorama
Take a shoebox and lay it on its side. Cut out several colored mummies from your pages, varying sizes if possible. Glue smaller mummies to the back of the shoebox and larger ones closer to the front, creating depth. Cut out pyramid shapes from brown construction paper and glue them into the scene to create an ancient desert tableau where your mummies reside.
5. Mummy Lantern Jar
Clean out an empty glass jar (like a jam jar). Cut strips from your colored mummy pages, or cut out smaller mummy figures. Glue these pieces onto the outside of the jar, alternating with strips of gauze or white paper to create a wrapped effect, letting some light through. Place a battery-operated tea light inside for a spooky glow.
6. Mummy Door Hanger Sign
Glue a full colored mummy page onto a piece of sturdy cardboard or poster board, then cut around the mummy outline. Punch a hole at the top center. Cut a small “do not disturb” or “beware of mummy” sign from another colored page and glue it near the mummy's feet. Thread a piece of yarn or ribbon through the hole to hang on a doorknob.
7. Mummy Pencil Topper Friend
Cut out a small, head-and-shoulders portion of a colored mummy. Roll a small piece of construction paper into a cone shape, just large enough to fit snugly over the top of a pencil, and glue it closed. Then, glue your mummy cutout onto the front of the paper cone to create a fun, ancient companion for your writing tools.
8. Mummy “Buried Treasure” Trinket Box
Find a small cardboard box (like a jewelry box or a clean food box). Cut out several detailed sections or small mummies from your colored pages. Glue these cutouts all over the outside of the box, overlapping them like ancient hieroglyphs or hidden treasures. You can add a coat of clear glue or Mod Podge for protection. Fill it with “gold coins” or small candies.
9. Mummy Stick Puppets
Cut out individual colored mummies from your pages. Glue each mummy firmly onto a craft stick or a sturdy popsicle stick. Use these stick puppets to put on a spooky “mummy awakens” play, or to decorate potted plants as ancient guardians.
10. Mummy Memory Game Cards
Mount several identical pairs of colored mummy pages onto thick cardstock or thin cardboard for durability. Cut each mummy picture into a uniform square or rectangular card. Arrange them face down and play a classic memory matching game, revealing the spooky ancient figures when you make a pair.
