10 Craft Ideas to do With Emu Coloring Pages

Once those vibrant emu coloring pages start piling up, don't let them gather dust! Turn your finished artwork into exciting and easy crafts with these fun ideas.

1. Emu Stick Puppets

Cut out your colored emus, leaving a small tab at the bottom. Glue each emu onto a craft stick or a sturdy popsicle stick. Now you have a flock of emus ready for a puppet show, running across the stage!

2. Tall Emu Growth Chart

Glue a long strip of poster board onto a wall or door. Cut out several of your finished emu pictures and glue them along the side of the poster board, marking different heights. Use a marker to add measurement lines and track how tall your little ones (or even your pets!) are, just like a towering emu.

3. Emu Feather Crown

Cut out various feather shapes from your finished coloring pages. Glue these cut-out emu feathers onto a strip of brown construction paper, sized to fit around your head. Secure the ends with tape or glue to create a regal emu-inspired crown!

4. “On the Run” Emu Mobile

Carefully cut out several running emu figures from your coloring pages. Attach a piece of string to the top of each emu. Tie these strings to a lightweight coat hanger or two crossed sticks, hanging your emus at different lengths to create a dynamic mobile that captures their speed.

5. Emu Egg Nest Craft

Glue crumpled brown construction paper into a paper plate to form a nest. Cut out a finished emu and glue it peeking over the edge of the nest. Cut out large oval shapes from blue-green construction paper to represent emu eggs and place them in the nest beside your proud emu.

6. Outback Emu Diorama

Decorate the inside of a shoebox with brown construction paper for sand and green for sparse bushes, mimicking the Australian outback. Cut out your colored emus and glue them standing inside the diorama, perhaps near small twigs you've added as trees. You've created a mini emu habitat!

7. Emu “Long Legs” Stands

Cut out your finished emus. For each emu, use two toilet paper rolls or sturdy paper towel tubes as “legs.” Decorate the rolls with paint or markers to resemble emu legs, then glue the bottom of your emu cut-out onto the top of the two rolls. These tall stands are perfect for displaying your emus on a shelf or desk.

8. Emu Footprint Path

Trace and cut out several large emu footprints from brown construction paper. Cut out smaller emu figures from your coloring pages. Glue one small emu onto each footprint. Arrange these footprints on the floor or a wall to create an adventurous path, as if a flock of emus has just passed through.

9. Silhouette Emu Window Art

Cut out a large emu from your coloring page. Trace its outline onto a piece of black construction paper and cut out the black silhouette. Carefully glue your colored emu onto the black silhouette, then laminate or cover with clear contact paper. Hang it in a sunny window to let the light shine through your vibrant emu!

10. Emu Family Photo Frame

Cut a square or rectangle out of the center of a piece of cardboard (e.g., from a cereal box) to create a frame. Cut out small emu figures or feather shapes from your coloring pages. Glue these small emu cut-outs all around the border of your cardboard frame. Insert your favorite family photo behind the emu-decorated frame.
