10 Craft Ideas to do With Moses Coloring Pages
Once those finished Moses coloring pages pile up, don't let them gather dust! These easy, affordable crafts put them to creative use.
1. Baby Moses Basket Diorama
Transform a small shoebox into a riverbank scene. Cut out your colored Baby Moses figure and a basket shape from brown construction paper. Glue Moses into the basket, then attach the basket to one side of the box, decorating the “water” and “reeds” with construction paper to complete your sweet diorama.
2. Ten Commandments Tablet Bookmark
Glue a cut-out, colored Moses figure or the Ten Commandments tablets from your coloring page onto a sturdy piece of cardstock. Trim neatly around the shape, leaving a slight border. Punch a hole at the top and thread a colorful ribbon or yarn through it to create a unique bookmark for your favorite books.
3. Parting the Red Sea Mobile
Cut two wavy “walls” from blue construction paper to represent the parted sea. Cut out your colored Moses, Israelites, and perhaps some Pharaoh's army figures from your coloring pages. Suspend these figures with string from a coat hanger or dowel, placing Moses between the “sea walls” to capture the dramatic parting of the Red Sea.
4. Burning Bush Window Cling
Take a sheet of contact paper and place your cut-out, colored Moses figure (or just a bush outline) onto the sticky side. Decorate around it with torn pieces of red, orange, and yellow tissue paper to create flickering flames. Cover with another piece of contact paper, trim the edges, and stick your glowing burning bush to a window.
5. Moses Staff Puppet
Glue your cut-out, colored Moses figure onto a craft stick or unsharpened pencil. For an extra touch, you can also cut out a serpent figure and glue it emerging from Moses' hand or attached to the same stick, symbolizing the transformation of his staff. Use your new puppet to retell the story of Moses.
6. Plague Scene Finger Puppets
Cut out several small, colored images of plague animals (frogs, flies, locusts) or characters like Pharaoh and Moses from your coloring pages. Glue each cut-out onto a small strip of construction paper. Form the strip into a ring to fit over your finger, securing it with glue, and bring the plagues to life through play.
7. Pillar of Cloud and Fire Lantern
Create a cylinder from construction paper or use a paper lunch bag. Cut out small colored figures of Moses or Israelites from your pages and glue them around the outside. Then, glue strips or torn pieces of white, orange, and yellow tissue paper over parts of the cylinder to resemble a pillar of cloud and fire. Place an LED tea light inside for a soft glow.
8. Manna Collection Pouch
Cut two identical pouch shapes from felt or sturdy fabric. Decorate one side by gluing a cut-out, colored Moses or Israelite figure from your coloring page. Punch holes around the edges of both pieces and “sew” them together with yarn or string, leaving the top open to create a small pouch for collecting “manna” (or small treasures).
9. Pharaoh's Royal Crown
Cut a long strip of poster board to fit around the child's head, then staple or glue the ends to form a crown. Decorate the crown with markers, gold glitter, and jewels. Finish by gluing small cut-out, colored images of Moses or symbolic Egyptian elements from your coloring pages around the base of the crown for a unique touch.
10. Mount Sinai Climbing Game
On a large poster board, draw a winding path from the bottom to the top of a “mountain,” creating spaces for players to move. Decorate the mountain with markers. Cut out a colored Moses figure and the Ten Commandments tablets from your pages and glue them at the “summit” or at key points along the path for a fun, Moses-themed board game.
