10 Craft Ideas to do With Nativity Coloring Pages

Once your little ones have finished coloring their Nativity scenes, don't let those beautiful creations just pile up! These easy, affordable crafts put their artwork to wonderful new use.

1. Nativity Stick Puppets

Cut out individual Nativity characters (Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, angels, shepherds, animals) from your colored pages. Glue each figure to a craft stick or pipe cleaner. Now you have a set of adorable stick puppets perfect for retelling the Nativity story!

2. Stable Scene Diorama

Turn a shoebox on its side to create a stable backdrop. Decorate the inside with construction paper for sky and ground, and cotton balls for clouds. Cut out your colored Nativity figures and glue them inside the box to create a beautiful 3D stable scene.

3. Star of Bethlehem Mobile

Decorate a paper plate to look like a starry sky. Cut out Nativity figures and stars from your colored pages. Punch holes around the edge of the paper plate and attach the cut-outs with varying lengths of yarn to create a charming hanging mobile.

4. Three Kings' Crowns

Design and cut out crown shapes from construction paper. Embellish them with glitter, gems, or pipe cleaners. Cut out the Three Wise Men, stars, or camels from your coloring pages and glue them onto the crowns for a royal Nativity accessory.

5. Glowing Lanterns of Bethlehem

Cover the outside of a clean glass jar or a paper bag with colorful tissue paper using a glue stick. Cut out Nativity scenes or figures from your colored pages and glue them onto the decorated jar or bag. Place a battery-operated tea light inside for a soft, glowing decoration.

6. Angel Wing Garland

Cut out various angel figures from your coloring pages. Add glitter to the wings for an extra heavenly touch. Attach these beautiful angels to a long piece of string or yarn using small clothesline clips, or punch holes and string them directly, to create a festive garland.

7. Manger Bed for Baby Jesus

Decorate a small tissue box or berry basket to resemble a manger. Shred yellow construction paper to make “hay” and fill the manger. Cut out a picture of Baby Jesus from your coloring page and gently lay him in his cozy, handmade manger bed.

8. Nativity Story Cube

Print and cut out a cube net template onto cardstock. On each face of the net, glue a different colored Nativity scene or character (e.g., Mary, Joseph, Angel, Shepherds, Wise Men, Star). Assemble and glue the cube to create a unique storytelling dice or decoration.

9. Stained Glass Window Scenes

Cut out Nativity figures or scenes from your colored pages. Frame them with thin strips of black construction paper to resemble leaded glass. Sandwich these between two sheets of clear contact paper or laminate them to create beautiful “stained glass” window art.

10. Shepherd's Crook Wall Hanging

Cut out shepherd figures and sheep from your coloring pages. Glue a piece of yarn across a small craft stick or dowel. Attach the cut-out figures along the yarn as if they are following the shepherd. Add a small cardboard “crook” shape to the side for a lovely wall display.
