10 Craft Ideas to do With Penguin Coloring Pages
Once those finished penguin coloring pages start piling up, these easy and affordable crafts are the perfect way to give them new life!
1. Penguin Parade Stick Puppets
Cut out your favorite colored penguins. Glue each penguin firmly to a craft stick or popsicle stick. Now you have a whole waddling parade ready for a puppet show or imaginative play, marching across your tabletop!
2. Waddle Wall Art Scene
On a large piece of blue or white construction paper, draw an icy landscape or ocean waves. Cut out several of your finished colored penguins and glue them onto the scene, creating a charming “waddle” of penguins exploring their habitat. This makes a great wall decoration for a bedroom or classroom.
3. Icy Perch Diorama
Transform a shoebox into an Antarctic world! Decorate the inside with blue paper for water and white paper for ice. Cut out your colored penguins, add a small folded paper stand to their back, and position them standing upright within your icy diorama, perhaps “diving” into the blue water.
4. Arctic Mobile Display
Cut out various colored penguins and some additional white “ice floe” shapes from construction paper. Use a hole punch to create a small hole at the top of each. Tie varying lengths of string or yarn to them and suspend them from a coat hanger or crossed popsicle sticks to create a delightful hanging mobile.
5. Penguin Party Headbands
Cut a long strip of construction paper to fit around a child's head, then tape or staple it into a band. Cut out a few of the most festive colored penguins and glue them onto the front of the headband. Kids can wear their favorite penguin proudly as they play!
6. “Egg”cellent Family Photo Frame
Start with a plain cardboard or craft stick photo frame. Cut out several colored penguins in different sizes, perhaps including a little penguin chick or an egg. Glue these cute cut-outs around the border of the frame to create a unique, penguin-themed display for a favorite photo.
7. Penguin Pocket Pals
Cut out two identical colored penguins. Glue them together along the edges, leaving the top or side open, to create a small pocket. These adorable penguin pockets can hold tiny treasures, notes, or even small cut-out “fish” for their snack time.
8. March of the Penguins Garland
Cut out multiple colored penguins from your completed pages. Punch a hole near the top of each penguin. String them together using yarn or ribbon, creating a charming garland that can be hung across a window, mantel, or classroom bulletin board.
9. Penguin Party Picks
For a fun party decoration, cut out small, mirror-image colored penguins. Glue them back-to-back around the top of a toothpick or small skewer. These make adorable decorative picks for cupcakes, cheese cubes, or other party snacks, adding a frosty touch to your treats.
10. Snowy Scene Window Clings
Carefully cut out your colored penguins. Place them on a sheet of clear contact paper or laminating pouch, then cover with another piece of contact paper, pressing firmly to remove air bubbles. Trim around the penguins, leaving a small border, and these homemade “clings” can be smoothed onto windows or mirrors to create a temporary snowy scene.
