10 Craft Ideas to do With Santa Sleigh Coloring Pages
Once those finished coloring pages start piling up, don’t just tuck them away—use these easy, budget-friendly crafts to bring Santa’s magic sleigh to life!
1. Reindeer-Pulled Pull Toy
Cut out your colored Santa sleigh and glue it to a sturdy piece of cardboard for backing. Punch a hole in the front of the cardboard and thread a red pipe cleaner through it, connecting it to a row of toilet paper roll “reindeer.” Tie a piece of yarn to the lead reindeer so kids can pull Santa's loaded sleigh across the living room carpet.
2. Rooftop Flight Shadow Box
Transform an old shoebox into a midnight sky by painting the inside dark blue and adding silver star stickers. Cut out your colored sleigh, glue a small accordion-folded strip of paper to the back, and mount it inside the box so it pops out. Glue black construction paper house silhouettes along the bottom edge to make it look like Santa is flying high over the rooftops.
3. Santa’s Treat Delivery Bag
Cut out the colored sleigh design and glue it flat to the front of a small brown paper lunch bag or gift sack. Stuff the bag with tissue paper and fill it with actual candy canes, chocolates, or small wrapped party favors. This turns your child's coloring page into a festive “sack of toys” delivery bag for friends and family.
4. Bouncing Sleigh Headband
Measure and cut a thick strip of red construction paper to fit around your child's head, securing it with tape or staples. Cut out the colored sleigh from the coloring page and glue it to the top of a green chenille pipe cleaner. Wrap the other end of the pipe cleaner around the headband so the sleigh bounces playfully in the air as they walk.
5. Collaborative Runway Mural
Roll out a long sheet of blue or black butcher paper on the floor to act as a giant night sky and draw a snowy landing strip at the bottom. Have a group of children cut out their finished sleighs and glue them along the runway in various stages of flight. Use white paint pens to draw dashed flight paths and glue yellow dot stickers for glowing runway lights.
6. Over-the-Moon Slider Plate
Paint a paper plate dark blue and glue a large yellow construction paper circle on one side to represent the full moon. Carefully cut a horizontal slit across the middle of the plate using a utility knife. Glue your cut-out colored sleigh to the end of a popsicle stick and slide it through the slit, allowing kids to guide Santa’s sleigh right across the face of the moon.
7. Upright Mantlepiece Sleigh
Glue your colored sleigh page to heavy poster board and carefully cut along the outline. Paint two wooden popsicle sticks red or silver and glue them to the bottom of the cutout to act as 3D, standing runners. Prop the sleigh upright in a bed of cotton ball “snow” on your fireplace mantle for a charming holiday display.
8. Egg Carton Cargo Hauler
Cut the lid off an empty egg carton and paint the bottom cups red and green to serve as Santa's cargo hold. Glue your cut-out coloring page sleigh to the long side of the carton, hiding the cups behind the paper design. Fill the individual egg compartments with colorful plastic gems, sequins, or mini wrapped boxes to simulate a sleigh packed with toys.
9. Sunset Sleigh Suncatcher
Cut out the silhouette of your colored sleigh, keeping the main shape intact. Stick it face-down onto a sheet of clear contact paper, then surround it with small squares of red, orange, and yellow tissue paper. Seal it with another sheet of contact paper, cut out the final shape, and tape it to a sunny window to make it look like Santa is flying through a warm winter sunset.
10. Northpole Takeoff Tree Topper
Laminate your colored sleigh page or cover it in clear packing tape to make it durable and stiff. Roll a sheet of green cardstock into a sturdy cone shape that can slide over the top branch of your Christmas tree. Glue the sleigh to the side of the cone at an upward angle so Santa looks like he is launching directly off your tree into the night sky.
