10 Craft Ideas to do With Snowman Coloring Pages

Once those finished coloring pages start piling up, these easy, affordable crafts are the perfect way to transform your child's colorful snowmen into cozy winter keepsakes.

1. Top Hat Headband Crown

Cut out the colored snowman’s face and top hat from your completed page, keeping the shape intact. Glue it to the center of an orange or blue construction paper band sized to fit your child's head. Fasten the ends with tape, and tuck a real feather or a green pipe cleaner “holly leaf” into the snowman's painted hat band for a festive winter crown.

2. “Melting” Paper Cup Puppet

Carefully cut out your colored snowman and glue him to a sturdy popsicle stick. Take a white paper cup, turn it upside down, and cut a small slit in the bottom. Insert the stick through the slit so your child can slide the snowman up to stand tall in the “snowbank” or pull him down to make him “melt” inside the cup!

3. Waterproof Mason Jar Snow Globe

Cut out the colored snowman, laminate him completely using clear packaging tape on both sides to waterproof the paper, and trim the excess. Hot glue the bottom tab of the snowman to the inside of a mason jar lid. Fill the jar with water, a drop of glycerin, and white glitter, then screw the lid on tight to watch your snowman survive his very own blizzard.

4. Winter Weather Temperature Tracker

Cut out the snowman and glue him to a sturdy piece of cardboard. Punch a hole at the top and bottom of his belly, and thread a loop of red-and-white ribbon through the holes to act as a thermometer slider. Draw a degree scale on his side so kids can slide the ribbon up and down to match the daily freezing temperatures outside.

5. “Build a Blizzard” Classroom Wall Mural

Spread a long roll of blue butcher paper across a wall or table to represent the winter sky. Have every child cut out their finished colored snowmen and glue them along the bottom edge. Complete the community blizzard by letting kids paste cotton ball snowdrifts around the snowmen's feet and stamp white paint “snowflakes” using bubble wrap.

6. Melting Snowman Keepsake Ornament

Carefully cut out your colored snowman, roll him up gently, and slide him inside a clear plastic hollow ornament bulb. Pour in a tablespoon of white faux snow or shredded white paper so he looks like he is sitting in a snowdrift. Slip in two small real twigs from the yard to act as his arms before popping the ornament cap back on.

7. Pin the Carrot Nose Game

Cut out the colored snowman, leaving his face completely blank where his nose should be, and glue him to a large piece of sturdy poster board. Cut out several carrot shapes from orange construction paper and write each child's name on them. Blindfold the players, spin them around, and see who can tape their carrot closest to the snowman’s face!

8. Snowman “Warm Hug” Napkin Rings

Cut out just the circular body of the snowman from your coloring page and glue it to a sturdy cardboard toilet paper roll segment. Twist two brown pipe cleaners together to form twig arms, and glue them to the back of the cardboard tube. Bend the arms forward around a fabric napkin to make it look like the snowman is hugging your dinner silverware.

9. 3D Pop-Up Snowball Greeting Card

Fold a piece of blue cardstock in half, and cut two parallel slits in the fold to create a pop-up tab inside. Cut out your finished snowman and glue him onto this tab so he stands upright when the card is opened. Glue textured cosmetic cotton pads around his base to create realistic, tactile snow drifts for your 3D winter greeting card.

10. Fluffy Puffy-Paint Snowman Poster

Paste your cut-out snowman onto a dark blue piece of construction paper to make the colors pop. Mix equal parts white shaving cream and school glue, and have your child paint this mixture over the snowy parts of the snowman. Once dry, the mixture turns into a puffy, 3D texture that makes the snowman feel soft and pillowy like real snow.
