10 Craft Ideas to do With Snow Globe Coloring Pages

Once those finished coloring pages pile up, these easy, affordable crafts put them to use by turning paper art into interactive, winter-themed keepsakes.

1. The “Real-Shake” Sensory Globe

Cut out the colored snow globe and glue it to a piece of sturdy poster board for support. Glue a clear plastic dessert plate upside down over the circular dome area, trapping a handful of white sequins and silver glitter inside. Secure the edges with hot glue or colorful tape to create a functional, shakeable 3D toy.

2. Faux-Stained Glass Window Cling

Carefully cut out the circular dome portion of your colored snow globe. Lightly coat the back of the paper with baby oil using a cotton ball to make the paper translucent, then let it dry. Frame it with a black construction paper ring and tape it to a sunny window to let the winter light shine through your artwork.

3. Pop-Up Winter Wonderland Card

Fold a piece of blue cardstock in half to make a greeting card, and cut two parallel slits in the fold to create an internal pop-up tab. Cut out your completed snow globe coloring page and glue its base to this tab. When the recipient opens the card, the snow globe will magically stand upright in 3D.

4. Magnetic Skating Rink Globe

Glue your colored snow globe onto a thick cardboard backing. Cut out a small character from your coloring page (or draw a tiny penguin or snowman), tape a metal paperclip to its back, and place it on the front of the globe. Slide a strong magnet behind the cardboard to guide your character, making them “skate” across the snowy scene.

5. Winter Wonderland Headband

Cut out the finished snow globe and glue it to the center of a long strip of blue construction paper measured to fit your child's head. Staple the band ends together to make a crown, then glue fluffy white cotton balls around the sides of the band. This creates the illusion of soft snowdrifts supporting the globe on your head.

6. Desktop Snow Dome Organizer

Wrap and glue your colored snow globe page around a clean, empty tin can to serve as the decorative base. Cut the bottom off a clear, dome-shaped plastic soda bottle and slip it over the top of the can to act as the glass dome. Cut a small slot in the top of the plastic dome so you can slide your pens and pencils inside.

7. Giant Avalanche Classroom Mural

Have every student color and cut out their own unique snow globe from the printable templates. Tape a long roll of blue butcher paper to the classroom wall and glue all the finished globes across the paper. Use white chalk and cotton balls to draw swirling wind lines and snowy clouds connecting all the globes into one massive winter landscape.

8. Embroidery Hoop Shadow Box

Mount your cut-out snow globe inside a wooden embroidery hoop, gluing the paper edges firmly to the back of the frame. Tie a piece of clear fishing line across the hoop directly in front of the picture, and thread a few white felt pom-poms onto the line. This creates a beautiful 3D illusion of falling snow suspended in mid-air.

9. Glowing Mason Jar Lantern

Cut out the central scene from your coloring page and use Mod Podge to adhere it directly to the outside of a clean, smooth mason jar. Wrap a blue pipe cleaner or ribbon around the jar's neck, drop a battery-operated tealight inside, and watch the snowy scene glow warmly from within.

10. Laminated Glitter Bookmark

Trim your colored snow globe into a slim rectangular shape perfect for keeping your page. Place it inside a clear laminating sheet, sprinkle a pinch of fine silver glitter directly over the image, and run it through the laminator to trap the “swirling snow” forever. Punch a hole in the top and tie a festive blue yarn tassel to complete it.
